Pope Francis has officially appointed the Reverend Father Mosese Vitolio Tui (SDB), the priest of St Paul’s parish in Massey in West Auckland, to be the new Archbishop of the Archdiocese Sāmoa-Apia. The appointment was made in Rome at 10pm (NZT), noon in Rome. His Excellency will replace the late Archbishop Alapati Lui Mataeliga who passed away last year. Achbishop-elect Tui was born in Sāmoa in 1961, and is a priest of the Salesians of Don Bosco. He was ordained in 1994 at St John Bosco Church, Sinamoga, Apia.
