Le Mamea Tuiletufuga Ropati Mualia – Biography

Afioga Le Mamea Tuiletufuga Ropati Mualia is a respected Samoan leader, politician, and community figure. He studied pharmacy at the University of Otago, New Zealand, graduating in 1970 as the first Samoan pharmacy graduate from the university.

After working in New Zealand, he returned to Samoa to serve as Chief Pharmacist at Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital and later contributed to Samoa’s healthcare and business sectors.

Le Mamea has had a distinguished political career, serving as a Member of Parliament, Minister of Education, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, and Leader of the Opposition. In 2016, he was elected to Samoa’s Council of Deputies (Deputy Head of State).

He is widely recognised for his lifelong dedication to education, healthcare, governance, and community service in Samoa.
